Google Doc template with un-deletable "Tab 1"

I think these “Tabs” are a new feature to Google Docs. But I’m having trouble with them being used as Appsheet templates now. There seems to be no way to disable the tabs in the gdoc, or delete all of them. But when the file is generated by the app from the template, it include the text “Tab 1” at the top. Anyone else facing this issue? How can I get rid of it?

I generated an old report and can confirm it doesn’t seem to affect old templates, I however have not tested on creating a new template. I am also reluctant to open my old template to go see :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I will try in morning on a test app if no-one else answered by then.

Hello Marc,

Does hiding tabs as highlighted in the screen below help you?

As you can see in the screenshot above, somehow I did not see tab in the Google doc, even the “hide tabs” was not enabled. I ran report both with tabs setting on and off. Somehow the title Tab1 did not appear in my PDF reports.

Of course, I do not know a confirmed reason for this at this moment.

No, it does not

It seems to be account-related in some way. No templates I build on my personal account output the tab heading, even though they all show that feature on the sidebar of the GDoc. In the OP I was working on an account within the client’s workspace. Today I created a new GDoc on my personal account, copied the template body, then transferred the doc ownership to the other account and set it to the bot, and voila, the output no longer has the tab heading. So, semi-solved, but very annoying to do.

Having the same issue. Older templates, have no “Tab” label shown but newer ones have.
To live with this I renamed the Tab to the title of the form, in your example rename the tab to “Purchase Order”

Having same issue here. Cant understand why we cant remove this silly tab thing. :zipper_mouth_face:

Try creating a brand new file from scratch. And don’t ever click on that section! There seems to be no way to remove them once created.

Set Tab 1 to for example <<blank_tab>> and set report-variable blank_tab to blank.
