I love Workspace, but I’m surprised and disappointed that Google Contacts is not HIPAA compliant. According to their HIPAA implementation guide, you don’t have to disable contacts to remain covered by the BAA, but at the same time, Google Voice uses Google Contacts as their directory… it’s confusing.
I think users choose Workspace because of how attractive, useful, and convenient it is, as as business owners, it makes our jobs easier, but having to find another program to save our contacts destroys efficiency (where are we supposed to store patient contacts securely if we plan to continue using Google Voice?)
As a small business that wants to grow with Google, I feel neglected in this matter, I think I’m not the only one, there are about 6 million people using Workspace in the US, who might also be struggling.
Google Workspace please allow us to grow with your support and address this soon.
