Hello
I use Google Calendar paid appointment bookings with Stripe connected to collect payment at the time of booking. The integration works for basic payment collection, but I have run into a significant limitation for accounting and tax compliance purposes.
The Stripe Checkout page that clients land on when booking does not collect billing address, postal code, VAT number, or custom fields such as voucher codes, as I already wrote here:
Google Booking Calendar & Stripe Integration - Unable to use coupons at checkout
In that thread I reported that coupon codes cannot be used at checkout because the allow_promotion_codes parameter is not being passed through the integration, as confirmed by Stripe’s technical support team.
Stripe’s native Checkout product supports all of these features. However, because Google Calendar creates and controls the Stripe Checkout session on its end, none of these options are exposed to the service provider. Furthermore, booking information created in Google Calendar is not passed to the Stripe backend, making it impossible to view or manage it there.
This is a problem for businesses operating in jurisdictions where invoices must include the client’s billing address and VAT number. The only workaround I have found is to collect this information in the booking form itself, which then requires manually entering it into Stripe to complete the client record for invoicing purposes. This also means that Stripe’s automatic invoicing feature cannot be used, creating additional administrative work.
Is there any intention to address these issues? Knowing whether a fix is planned would help people decide whether to continue with this integration or find an alternative solution.
Thank you
