Hello,
As of two days ago it appears that my Google Workspace account that had a free transition from Google App Maker now has been enrolled to CORE instead, because apparently Google decided that they no longer will honor this commitment. Going through past posts I noticed a comment by someone that posted a screenshot of an email that reflects this initial commitment by Google and I also have other emails with Google staff that never mentioned any time limit on how long this free tier was supposed to last.
I am curious how many people are left that transitioned from Google App Maker that may have been forced into a paid subscription now? See a screenshot of an email from Praveen below that mentions āfor as long as you remain a G Suite customerā.
Hi @Markus_Malessa It appears that some former Google App Maker customers who were transitioned to AppSheet with a free entitlement are now being moved to a paid Core plan. The original communication many users reference stated that the AppSheet Pro plan would remain free āfor as long as you remain a G Suite customer,ā which understandably created the expectation of no time limit.
However, Google licensing terms can change over time, especially after product sunsets and migrations. Free transition benefits are often tied to specific editions, account status, or internal program terms that may later be updated or discontinued. In some cases, changes to your Workspace edition, billing status, or domain configuration can also trigger automatic reassignment to a paid tier.
If this change was unexpected, the best course of action is to contact Google Workspace Support or your Google account representative and reference the original transition communication. Provide documentation or screenshots of the prior commitment. Community forums cannot access billing records or enforce legacy entitlements, so only Google support can clarify whether your account still qualifies for the original free terms or if the program has officially ended.

Could I get someone at Google to please review this for me? I originally received a forwarded email from my ETS group at my company in mid December, the original email from Google was dated in September. Unfortunately the procedure to get a quote through a third party (Resultant) that apparently handles our account with Google has been very slow, with up to 3 weeks to even receive an initial quote, and then they provided a quote for a longer term than requested so now Iām waiting for an updated quote. My developer account was under some type of āfloatingā licensing and was reflecting as āEnterprise Plusā although it was a hybrid type of licensing due to the Google App Maker migration. Google ended up turning off this type of licensing on February 10th and I have been unable to access certain applications for over a month now. I realize I am a very small fish in the ocean, however I would really appreciate it if someone at Google could possibly turn this licensing model back on while I continue to wait for the licensing quote to actually complete. I do still have Core licensing through our Google Workspace, but unfortunately that does not allow me to access the apps that have Google Cloud SQL data connector.
Hello @Markus_Malessa,
Sure, I will send you a PM
