Yes be careful to not become dependent on it as we have had this fail on us twice now; the trigger never fires when it should. AppSheet support say it’s a bug that’s being worked on (the issue has been open now for a month) but clearly it’s not ready yet so we’re using the App Script approach to push in via the API.

I have an open bug with AppSheet support (since Mar 03, 2025) where the trigger just never fires when it should: is this what is happening to you? It’s still not fixed and is now affecting 2 of my apps and I have had to go back to using Google Apps Script to push into AppSheet.
Yes! I had cobbled together a test app to try it out and it worked great. I have since come back to the test to add functionality and it is not working anymore.
I know it is in early access, but I have also just developed an AI summariser that relies on the emails getting into Appsheet so that they can be summarised every hour or so (scheduled bot).
This has been long awaited. With Gemini AI, wow can we integrate with Gemini AI to auto draft email responses from data stored in AppSheet?
Use case:
Email received in Gmail & Alias Email > Ticket Created in AppSheet > Ticket Assigned to user in AppSheet > Auto create email draft response with Gemini AI for the same email received in AI > User mark ticket as Resolved > Email to the same email to market it as closed.
Is this possible to achieve this with AppSheet? I am noob to AppSheet, any suggestions or assistances is welcomed!

@vchitra I am writing a Workspace Gmail addon that allows a user to copy their selected email to one of my datasources using the Appsheet API via a POST.
I am aware of the Gmail Event system you have released into preview and I am aligning my backend tables to reflect the information that is surfaced by your system. Every column that is captured from your Gmail Event can also be captured by my addon.
However, your system uses a [Message ID] that is only unique to a specific user’s mailbox rather than the Global unique one. Consequently, my workspace addon can stop the same message being stored multiple times in the backend, but your Event system would allow the same message (with only the user’s unique message id) to be stored many times…for instance if that message was sent to a group and there was a separate appsheet app created for multiple purposes.
While I understand your Gmail Event is targetted at the App Developer and not at every user who uses a specific app, in the interests of making a system that can deal with emails in both ways, would it be a good idea for you to add another column that is returned by your Gmail Event that stores the globaly unique message identifier as well as the user unique message identifier?
Gemini suggests to me that both of these identifiers can be returned with the Gmail API calls you are surely using to get the information.
This Gmail integration is a huge step towards low code/no code solution for connecting AppSheet and Gmail. Really hope that it will move from Beta to GA soon so that more real world applications can be created without the fear of this Beta being removed.
@vchitra If I want to monitor multiple labels, do I need to create multiple actions/bots? Is there a way to record and watch all labels?
Every time there is an email, it overwrites row 1. How can I have a row per email?

[Date] and [DateTime] seems to be in UTC. So to get the right time, I use this expression:
[Date] + (NOW() - UTCNOW())
@vchitra maybe you can fix this by adding the Timezone parameter to the system?
Hi, our intégration keeps disconnecting. There is no error but emails stops getting in. Is there anybody else seeing this problem.
After switching account and saving again it is working again.
is this a known bug or is there a solution for this?

We will contact them but each time we contact support, we do not have lot of success… We are not speaking with real human and it is a really long process..
I have an open ticket on this: it just stopped working after a couple of days back in March 2025. I kept on asking for updates every month but I have given up now and it’s still not working.
