Gmail bot trigger stop working

Hi,

I created a bot with a Gmail trigger (add label).

To do this, I added my Gmail account as a data source and granted the permissions requested by Appsheet.

Yesterday, it worked perfectly. Here are the logs from when the bot was triggered.

Today, it’s not working anymore! I haven’t touched the trigger. I already posted about this a few months ago. The bot stops working for no reason.

Thank you for helping me.

I’m assuming we should be seeing some 12/3/2026 entries as an indication that the Bot did work?

Can you show your Bot Event and Criteria details?

If you are not seeing entries in the Monitor, that likely is an indication that the Bot didn’t trigger - meaning that it didn’t meet criteria.

To verify this, open the Audit Log file and look for entries for this specific Bot. The Audit log will indicate if the Bot was even attempted to be triggered at all and if that triggering was “true" or “false”. See images below.

If false, then you need to closely look at the Bot Event Criteria AND the row data to determine why it was not triggered - why criteria was not met.

If you see NO ENTRIES in the log file, first make sure the Bot is still enabled. If so, then you will need to contact Support to find out why the Bots did not even attempt to trigger.

I hope this helps!

This is a Gmail event. It must be triggered when a label is added to an email.

That’s not a row condition criteria

I know the monitor console but where is the Audit Log file ?

I recently saw someone in the forum claim Gmail integration only works for a week at a time. When it stops working, they have to do something (make a trivial change, maybe) and it would work again, for another week. Sorry I don’t have a link to the post.

Oh, I see this is the GMail Beta feature. The documentation found here does not specify any limitation but does say its not recommended for production apps. And to @Steve ‘s comment, I have to wonder if there might be some unspoken limitations to reduce any potential impact on production level services since this just a test feature at the moment.

That said, to answer your question about how to get to the Audit Logs, you will find it through the Manage tab. See the image below.

Yeah I have had the same issue. It works one day perfectly and the day after, it doesn’t work anymore. I will attempt to reassign the label in order to perform a test.

Hi,

I contacted Appsheet support. In my case, it works for one day, and the next day I have to remove Gmail from the data sources and add it again to restore the permissions. :frowning:

Hi,

Appsheet support got back to me. There is indeed an issue with the Gmail authorisation being deactivated. However, it’s still in beta, so we’ll have to wait :frowning: It’s been in beta for about a year!
