Gen AI feature is not available in the vertex AI healthcare search app

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to create a Vertex AI healthcare search app in Agent Builder, using input from the healthcare API. According to the documentation, we can configure the LLM feature to generate answers from the search results. The steps outlined in the documentation are as follows:

  1. In the Google Cloud console, go to the Agent Builder page.
  2. On the Apps page, click “New app.”
  3. On the Create app page, select “Search.”
  4. In the Search app configuration pane, select “Healthcare.”
  5. To enable advanced LLM features for this app, click the “Advanced LLM features” toggle.

However, when I select “Healthcare” in step 4, I don’t see the option to activate the Advanced LLM features. The three available options are: 1) Generic, 2) Media, and 3) Healthcare. I can only find the Advanced LLM features in the Generic section.

Does anyone know why this might be happening or how I can enable the Advanced LLM features for the healthcare app?

I tried to replicate the behavior you’ve encountered and I was able to replicate it. I suggest to create an issue tracker so our engineering team can look into this. For the meantime, you may try creating your app using REST API.
