Gemini needs the optional permissions to access a devices files and/or the device itself please.
my phone screen broke and i could not data transfer using gemini and learned it would be much cooler if i could just tell my phone what to do and such..

Some ideas (you seem to be wanting the web Gemini interface to access your phone – which can be a vector for security issues).

  1. use voice access on your phone screen broken (“Hey Google”) though depending on what you want to do you may need an app that you could launch to do some things
  2. [perhaps suggestion 0 ] save data to Drive from your phone – automatically available many ways
  3. Get a Pixel Watch and use it to run Gemini things

Gemini can’t fully control your phone without optional permissions, which is why data transfer is limited when the screen is broken. You can use voice access (“Hey Google”), save data to Drive, or use a Pixel Watch to run some Gemini features remotely.
