I am creating a sign in app to allow me to view the headshot of my students in a gallery view. When I click to view the details of one of the students (which come from a sliced data for the different classes), I programmed a button within it that allows me to sign them in when they arrive and my sliced data condition would filter that student out of my gallery view.
My issue is after I sign a student in and click on the ‘back’ button, my gallery view displays all the remaining students but all the images are not displaying, only their names. I have to reload/refresh the whole app for the images to populate the gallery again. All the links to the images on google drive are correct and the file size of each image is less than 200kb.
Is there anyway to ensure that all the photos would show after I sign in one of my students?
Thanks
I’ll guess that you are using the full static URL to the images? You may be running into caching issues. I don’t know all the details but do know that for images, caching is heavily relied upon to speed up retrieval.
The best approach, in your case, for the images is to upload them into a folder underneath where your datasource sheet is located. If you use the app to upload the images, AppSheet will create this folder by default and store the proper path + file into in the sheet column.
Or you can create this folder yourself (underneath the sheet location), maybe call it “Student_Images”, and then apply this folder name to the Student Image column in the app. Any future uploads will be directed to this specified folder.
AppSheet can better manage images and their caching when under its control.

Thanks for the reply. I am using appsheet to automatically upload my images
to google drive. Each image is also less 100kb in size so it shouldn’t be
that heavy of a load to manage. Still unsure as to why that happens.
Any ideas?
