Packing and/or unpacking of customer provided containers will be performed and assessed based upon an hourly charge.
1. Extra Pickup/Delivery: Transportation rates include on free pickup and one free delivery at a single address. A charge will be assessed for each additional stop or call requiring an additional pickup and/or delivery.
1. Bulky Articles: Certain articles are comparatively light for the space they take up, such as automobiles or trucks, pianos, motorcycles, boats, trailers, and campers. To compensate for these bulky articles, a flat Bulky Article Charge will be assessed. For certain articles, a Weight Additive based upon the length of the article will be added to the net weight of your shipment.
1. Elevator/Stairs/Excess Distance: If an elevator or stairs have to be used to accomplish pickup or delivery of the shipment, additional charges will be assessed. If the moving van cannot be parked within 75 feet of the residence at origin or destination, additional charges will be assessed.
1. Warehouse Pickup/Delivery: When the carrier picks up a shipment from, or delivers to a warehouse (including self-storage/mini-warehouse locations) rented by the shipper, an additional charge will be assessed when the carrier is requested to enter the warehouse for the purpose of removing items stored or placing items into the warehouse.
1. Additional Labor: Our tariff provide that an additional hourly labor charge will be assessed for performing shipper requested services which are not otherwise provided for in the tariff. This additional hourly labor charge may be assessed for such services as taking up tacked down carpeting, shuttle service, packing and/or unpacking of customer provided containers, etc.
1. Piano/Organ Carry: When a shipment includes a piano or organ that has been carried up or down stairs, a stair carry charge may apply
1. Overtime Load/Unload: If you specifically request loading and/or unloading between 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. weekdays, or at any time on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, an additional charge will be assessed. This charge will not apply when a shipment is delivered to a warehouse or when loading and/or unloading is performed at the convenience of the carrier.
1. 3rd Party Service: If carrier does not possess the qualified personnel to properly service certain appliances and articles, carrier, will upon request of the shipper, engage 3rd parties to perform the service. Charges will be advanced by the carrier and billed to the shipper.
1. Other: The carrier’s tariff may provide for additional services and charges that are not printed on the form. These services and charges will be listed in this section.
1. Auxiliary/Shuttle Service: In certain locations it may not be possible to either load or unload the shipment directly into the over-the-road vehicle at a close distance to the residence. In these circumstances, we might have to employ a smaller vehicle to shuttle the shipment between the residence and the closest safe approach of the over-the-road vehicle. A flat rate or an hourly charge for both the smaller vehicle and driver/helper will be assessed. An additional charge will apply when an Auxiliary shuttle vehicle is provided or obtained. The alternative to this would be to either accept the shipment at the closest approach of the over-the-road vehicle or have the shipment placed into storage.
1. Waiting Time: If you are unable to accept delivery of your shipment within the allotted free time from when the moving van arrives, you may be assessed an hourly charge for the vehicle and driver/helper between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. An alternative to Waiting Time charges would be to have the shipment placed into storage for which additional charges will apply.
1. Appliance Service: Certain appliances and articles must be serviced or parts secured in order to insure safe transportation. For doing this, an additional charge will be assessed. If the carrier cannot perform the service, a 3rd Party may be employed at the expense of the shipper. Carrier is not required to perform plumbing, electrical, or carpentry services necessary to disconnect, remove, connect or install such appliances or articles.
