Dear Google Cloud Platform Team,
We are writing to inquire about the availability of a native load testing service within GCP, similar to Azure Load Testing.
Currently, we rely on setting up and managing our own load testing infrastructure using tools like JMeter and custom scripts on Compute Engine instances. While this approach is functional, it introduces significant overhead in terms of setup, configuration, and maintenance.
We believe that a dedicated load testing service within GCP would be highly beneficial for your users. Such a service could offer:
- Simplified Setup: A streamlined process for configuring and executing load tests, reducing the complexity and time required for setup.
- Scalability: Automatic provisioning and scaling of load generators based on test requirements, similar to Azure Load Testing’s capabilities.
- Integration: Seamless integration with other GCP services, such as Cloud Monitoring and Cloud Logging, for comprehensive test analysis.
- Cost Optimization: Intelligent resource management to minimize costs while ensuring accurate test results.
We understand that you may already have solutions or recommendations for load testing on GCP. However, a fully integrated service would provide a significant advantage for users who are already invested in the GCP ecosystem.
We believe that implementing a native load testing service would:
- Enhance User Experience: Provide a more convenient and efficient way for GCP users to perform load testing.
- Increase GCP Adoption: Encourage users to stay within the GCP ecosystem for their load testing needs, rather than relying on third-party tools.
- Drive Revenue: Increase the consumption of GCP resources, such as Compute Engine instances, contributing to the platform’s profitability.
We would appreciate it if you could consider this feature request and provide us with any information on your current or future plans for load testing services within GCP.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
