Hello,
we are almost all happy to see that Gmail Delegation access is becoming available from mobile devices too.
From the News posted in Google Updates Blog, I see : “There is no admin control for this specific mobile feature; it follows existing delegation settings that you’ve configured for the web experience.”
Some Customers are asking us an option to switch the mail delegation OFF from Users’ mobile devices.
Scenario: Mostly end-users have their work account in their BYOD devices. Enabling delegation from mobile increases the risk of unauthorized access to delegated email accounts (e.g. children, friends, relatives who know the phone’s unlock code).
It’s one thing to have only your own named account on your mobile device; it’s another to be able to view other, more confidential delegated accounts that are typically only accessible via the web.
No, MDM with the Work Profile is not an option for this kind of Customers.
Feature request: An option that allows Admins to disable email delegation only from mobile devices, which can be activated on a OU basis and a group basis.
