Eval wizard Access routing failing using default network

Hi, i’m new to APIGee and also with GCP, currently i was trying to create an evaluation with the wizard and everything was good until i get to the configuration of the Access Routing where i receive this message : Invalid value for field ‘resource.network’: ‘projects/(PII Removed by Staff)/global/networks/default’. The network/subnetwork field(s) can only be used for INTERNAL forwarding rules.

i’m using the default network that was created when i started my 60 days for evaluating GCP and when i watch the videos on youtube regarding the use of the wizard i see that she uses that network for his setup.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

I found a recent error report that matches the error message you have reported here. Engineering is taking a look into it. At the moment I do not have a confirmed work around or fix. However, the two things that appear similar between the two reports is the use of a default network configuration.

If you’d like, one approach that may help will be to try using a custom network configuration. I do not know for sure though yet whether this will help.

In the meantime, I’ll keep an eye on the case and will check back with you as updates become available.

Cheers,

“Since Paul mentioned above that there is a confirmed issue specifically with the default network configuration, you might want to try creating a new custom VPC network manually. Use that custom network in the wizard instead of the default one—that often bypasses these types of default-config bugs.”

Hi,

Update, this should be fixed. Please let us know if you are still seeing issues.

Glad to see this has been resolved — thanks for the update! If others still run into similar default network issues during setup, trying a custom VPC network instead of the default often helps bypass these routing config errors.
