Email Mandrill or Default

Thanks Sai, Sunday morning’s report was missed (did not receive at all) but we received today’s report as expected.

Hi Sai, just a heads up. We’re seeing the email delay again on Google Chime. The following 2 emails were generated at the same time but received 10 minutes apart.

@Daisy_Ramirez : Thanks for letting us know. Can you please tell me when the emails were generated. I’ll look in the backend to check the logs

Same client but DEV database: TST_USA_Receiving-539632

These were generated at 2:10 PM Eastern Time

@Daisy_Ramirez : Got it. I’ll take a look and let you know here. Thanks.

@Daisy_Ramirez : We have been seeing some issues in the backend which might result in some delays. We are looking into it.

Thanks Sai, will standby.

Today I was trying to figure out why my app wasn’t delivering the emails as programed to do. I launched the log analyzer and confirmed that my workflow and all actions had fired correctly. I kept trying to figure out what was wrong on my end, thinking perhaps that it had something to do with me using UTC for establishing mailing rules. However everything seemed correct and was firing no problem. However, no emails. I am trying to implement a mobile credit application app for our sales people, and it is crucial that the application gets through promptly. There can be no delays and I need it to be reliable.
Doing some digging, I came across this thread, and am thinking that perhaps this happened do to the emails being sent via the System default instead of the Mandril. The emails head out with a PDF attachment which is only 56kb. Do you think this is the issue? Is there anything I will miss out on if I set the messaging channel to system mandrill?

I have been seeing a lot more complaints lately about the emailing service. Way more than we ever saw before hand.

Please contact support@appsheet.com for help with this. Support has some access to check delivery status, I think.

It seems like there is a bug in the email feature.

When I check the trace, all the events are run successfully. But I’m not receiving any email.

Please contact support@appsheet.com for help with this.

Hi Guys,

@Steve @Aleksi @Suvrutt_Gurjar thanks for the support.
I’ve investigated the issue.

The issue is there with the attachment specified in the workflow.
When the attachment file is not found in the given path, it’s not sending an email.

Probably, Appsheet should send an email without the attachment or an error in the log.

One option is if you set the Alert as ON from the Audit history

Aleksi:

This is an enterprise plan feature*

Also I would argue that sending only with the attachment or sending even without the attachment would need to be an option since if my email is “Here is your morning report” and it doesn’t have the report then it’s pointless to send the email. Reverse being I have all my information in the email but have a pdf version to print or email out instead of just forwarding an email around and I would want that to be sent regardless of whether or not it has the attachment.

Any update on the tables fix? I am now aware that on 5/27 Mandrill will be unavailable, but I am still seeing phantom attachments from graphics in my body templates. I just opened a case with support on this also - I need to have a fix before Mandrill goes away!

Any docs on Google Chime? I can’t find any docs on it… I am searching for it (on google, hah!) and I can’t find anything on it.

I believe Chime is a Google-internal service. @Sai, can you confirm?

Yes that is true. Chime is a Google-Internal service. System Default means that your emails go through Chime

Thanks,
