Hey everyone, I have run into this issue myself and experienced your same pain.
I would encourage you all to go through the Looker App and thumbs up the feature request most similar to your ideal feature. These features can get prioritized based on the amount of thumps up for a given feature. Each Looker user has one thumbs up available per feature request so if a feature is important to your organization I recommend you get others to upvote as well.
