Domain Access Lost After Google Cloud Project Deletion

Hi,

I am in a difficult situation regarding a domain I purchased through Google Cloud, and I need help accessing or transferring it after deleting the associated project.

The Problem

I bought a domain through Google Cloud/Google Domains. To stop the recurring monthly charges, I deleted the entire Google Cloud project associated with the domain. The project deletion is complete and the project cannot be restored.

  • I can no longer see or manage the domain in my Google Cloud or Google Domains account interface.

  • I contacted Squarespace (as I thought all of the Google Domain will be managed by them), and they confirmed they cannot assist with domains purchased via Google Cloud.

What I Am Trying to Do

I need to regain control of the domain so I can transfer it to another registrar (like Squarespace or any other).

What I’ve Tried So Far

  1. Checked Google Domains/Cloud Console: The domain is no longer visible under my account.

  2. Contacted Squarespace: They confirmed they cannot initiate the transfer from the Google Cloud side.

  3. Contacted Google Customer Service: Since I am on a Basic support plan, I do not have access to direct technical support, and I cannot upgrade my plan without an active project.

Is there a way I can recover access to this domain or transfer it?

My inquiry is exactly the same as yours, but Google Cloud insists that I contact Squarespace. I’m at my wit’s end now.
