Is there an way to test Looker blocks or visualizations in Looker? I wasn’t sure the impacts of installations. What are some recommendations?
Also any guides on best practices would be highly encouraged! Thanks in advance!
What blocks/viz tools are you looking at? I’ve installed a few blocks (data dictionary & LookML diagram) that were SUPER easy to implement and had no impact on day-to-day operations… or for admins/end users… as far as visualizations go, such as sankey, I don’t see how implementing this could be an issue if you are not using it in any dashboards/tiles/looks. However, some of the more complex blocks — for example, any related to accounting and/or bookkeeping — you might want to create a test environment prior to pulling the trigger.. hope this helps!
