Delay between PDT refresh and Dashboard Schedule

Hi all,

I have a datagroup , which has a SQL trigger that checks for upstream table , once it has new value , the data group triggers and the associated PDT refreshes.

I have scheduled the dashboard to use the datagroup to trigger the PDF generation. So once the PDT is refreshed , new data will go out.

All events are supposed to be instant , but there seems to be a significant delay between PDT refresh and Dashboard schedule ( about 20 minutes to 2 hours) .

Since i m working on a time sensitivity project of sending out reports, a small delay is also not good.

Note : The table is small , has only one row and the datagroup depends on only one PDT .

Any help is appreciated to solve the delay

Hi,

It seems on the face of it that you have set everything up correctly. Are you measureing the latency (i.e. 20 minute to 2 hour) by looking at the schedule history in Looker, or by looking at when the dashboard was delivered client-side (I want to rule out delays on the SMTP side assuming an email delivery)? Are there other dependencies on the datagroup (i.e. are there other PDT’s that get re-built or other schedules that are configured to run)?
