Custom Dimension filtering on Dashboards

Hi,

Is it possible to:

  1. Cross-filter off a Custom Dimension in a dashboard?
    • By ‘off’, I mean select the custom dimension and have all my other data filtered by it
  2. Add a filter to the dashboard based off a custom dimension?

If not, it would be great to have these features. Going through dev each time to add set fields as business change is a pain, esp when they have a long backlog.

Some added flexibility here would be super helpful :slight_smile:

We are looking for the same requirement. Will be great if someone knows how to add custom dimension as a filter in the dashboard.

We are exactly facing the same problem. We don’t want to give lkml edit permisions, but users cannot use their custom dimensions to filter a dashboard. So we have to create a new dimension in Lkml, sometimes just to make a grouping, that changes along time, and then they have to ask us every time they need to change it.

The only solution to this is to create that custom dimension in back end using lookml and use it on the dashboard.
