Confused about NS Records in Cloud DNS - Help Needed

Hello everyone,

I’m having some trouble understanding which NS records to use for my domain in Google Cloud DNS.

In the “Name servers” section of my DNS zone, I see four NS servers listed (bakcend in edit mode):

However, in other areas of the Cloud DNS console (frontent), I only see one NS server displayed and a SOA record.

Could you please clarify which NS servers I should use when configuring the NS record for my domain in my servers dns area? Should I use all four NS servers listed in the “Name servers” section, or just the one NS server that I see without editing record (front)?

I want to ensure that I have the correct NS record configuration for my domain to function properly.

Thank you for your assistance!

Hi, @monotrust .

All of these are the authoritative name servers for your domain. When you configure NS records for your domain at your domain registrar (the external place where you bought your domain), you will need to use all the four of these.

Hello,

Is there a way to get help swapping my NS records, I have already redirected my DNS records to google workspace. Now I want to get full protection.

You should use all four NS servers listed in the “Name servers” section (ns-cloud-1 through ns-cloud-4) when configuring your domain’s NS records with your registrar or upstream DNS. The single NS you see in the frontend or SOA record is just what Cloud DNS displays internally; proper delegation requires listing all four authoritative NS servers to ensure redundancy and correct resolution.
