.cloud domain lost in the world of GCP/SquareSpace -- expires in 14 days!

Hi there,

I have a .cloud domain that a predecessor purchased a few years back that we use for an internal app. The person who registered is no longer around (I hope he’s ok, but we’ve tried every way to contact this person for 6 months). This domain must have been purchased pre SquareSpace and in some GCP project that I either have no access to (as domain admin, gcp admin/owner, etc), but I don’t know where or how to get registration access so I can move it elsewhere… Somehow I have access, we have it in our Cloudflare, and I just got an email from SquareSpace telling me it’s about to expire and I need to pay the reseller: Google Cloud Domains…

As a good boy, I first reached out to SquareSpace, but they don’t have it and told me to reach out here… We’re still in semi stealth mode and 1-2 months away from our initial launch so this is just happening at the worst time ever…

What can I do, all I can think of at this point is an ICANN ownership case? I just have never had this happen before that no matter where I look I can’t find a domain that I’m obviously the contact/owner on and can’t pay and/or initiate a move…

Any help would be appreciated if you’ve run into something like this before… Have a great day!
