Hello!
I recently wanted to change our Looker Studio datasets that rely on BigQuery table locations from the EU multi-region to a single region (europe-west1).
I found that after I had changed all my BigQuery locations from EU to europe-west1, that I couldn’t view the data in Looker Studio reports.
When looking at the Looker Studio dataset configuration, there is no way to configure which BigQuery table location the Looker Studio dataset is referencing.
I also tried reconnecting the Looker Studio dataset connection to the BigQuery table located in europe-west1, hoping that since the EU multi-region wasn’t available anymore that it would update the Looker Studio dataset region to the new BigQuery table location of europe-west1. It seemed to update the Looker Studio dataset fine with no errors, however the reports still didn’t display due to the Looker Studio dataset’s BigQuery table location still set to EU multi-region.
In order to fix my issue I had to replicate all BigQuery datasets to support the EU multi-region location again, unfortunately. Ultimately I want to remove all the BigQuery datasets’ EU multi-region replicas.
Is it possible to manage/change the BigQuery dataset/table location within the Looker Studio dataset configuration?
