Can't enable VM Manager, "Failed to Load Data"

Howdy! I’m trying to enable VM Manager, but every time I try to, I get the error “Failed to load data”.

So far I’ve tried:

  • Clearing cache (chrome)
  • Running in Incognito mode (chrome)
  • Different browser (firefox)
  • Clear cache on new browser (firefox)
  • Enabling for single instance
  • Enabling for entire project/account

Anyone have a similar experience? Anyone know of any other potential solutions?

Hello @slamjammington ,

Welcome to the Google Cloud Community. Did you’ve tried to enable service by enabling API? Go to API & Services → Enable APIs → Type VM Manager → Choose VM Manager (OS Config API)> → Enable

cheers,
DamianS

Hello,

I’m facing the same issue, “enable full vm manager functionality” feature is not working,
I have tried all the above steps listed by slamjammington, my confirguration is ok:
API’s enabled
Account service correctly setup
System up to date (latest image from bitnami WP/Nginx/debian 11)
os-config agent latest version
GCLOUD/CLI up to date
When I try to enable full vm manager functionality, nothing happens, just and endless timer loop.
