in the last 3 days iv been having a problem downloading files through the SSH window from my VM instance, the files would load and show that its transferred but it doesnt actually download on my PC. i tried different browsers, different PC’s and i also different VMs. what is the problem?
I have also had this issue. I have tried multiple browsers, different logins. It’s the same whether using the SSH browser window or the gcloud shell. I haven’t found any answers to it either. Really need a fix for this!

Same here! Tried different ways and different times, either one worked. Is there a workaround for this?
Just use the following command
gcloud compute scp @:~/path/to/file/in/compute /your/local/path
