Bug? The "Clear filters" button at the report level doesn't work if it has a custom style

Hi everyone,

I wanted to ask if anyone else has encountered this behavior in Looker Studio, because it seems like it might be a bug.

Scenario:

I have filters configured at the report level.

I also have a button with the report action “Clear filters,” also at the report level.

Both the filters and the button use the same data source.

The problem:
When I apply custom styles (background color, text color, etc.) to the “Clear filters” button, clicking it doesn’t clear the filters.

The odd thing:

If the button is left with the default style, it works correctly.

The problem only occurs when the button has any kind of visual customization.

Expected behavior:
That the button clears all filters at the report level regardless of the applied style.

Has anyone else been able to reproduce this or know of a more elegant workaround? I’m sharing this information in case it’s helpful to others and to confirm if it’s a known bug.

Thanks!

hm, i just tested this with a fresh dashboard, and the button seems to work just fine even when I apply custom styles to it.

Does the same problem happen to you on a new dashboard?

Yes, if I create a brand new dashboard from scratch, the button works fine — even with custom styles applied.

However, in an existing dashboard that I built several months ago, it recently stopped working. Nothing significant was changed, it just seems to have broken.

Is there any known solution or workaround for this?

We rely on this custom button because the dashboard is used in presentation mode, where the native Looker Studio interface button is not visible. So this button is quite important for our use case.
