[Bug] Severe Data Loss using "Quick Edit" on Desktop Mode (Hidden columns erased)

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing a critical issue in my app that results in data loss, and I wanted to see if anyone else is facing this before I submit a formal support ticket.

The Issue: When a user edits a record using the “Quick Edit” columns in a Detail View on Desktop mode, any columns that are NOT included in the quick edit view are being overwritten with blank/null values upon saving.

Key Details:

  • Mobile View: Works perfectly. Only the edited column is updated, and hidden data remains intact.

  • Desktop View: Bug occurs. Hidden data is completely erased when saving via Quick Edit.

  • I’ve double-checked, and this is NOT caused by App Formula or Reset on edit settings. The exact same configuration works correctly on mobile.

Has anyone else encountered this specific bug with the Desktop UI recently? If so, is there any known workaround?

For now, I’ve had to disable Quick Edit entirely to prevent further data loss in my production app, but this is quite inconvenient for users.

That sounds like a bug in desktop view. Try disabling desktop view to see if the problem goes away. If so, it’s a bug and you should report it to Support.
