Backup mailboxes

How can I preserve/backup mailboxes/drives to your organizations account before deleting an account? We would like to be able to save the information to access in one location after deleting the mailbox.

Are you referring to Google Workspace accounts ? Or GMAIL accounts ? Or different email accounts?

google workspace email accounts, Trying to figure it out for a client with minimal costs of spending. They want to preserve mailboxes and remove the licenses.
