Features & enhancements

Item Description
Enhancement AppSheet Core Security setting enforcement

AppSheet Core is in the process of being included in Workspace SKUs (see this announcement).

As part of this rollout, a new AppSheet Core security setting is being made available to Workspace admins. This setting will apply to all AppSheet Core users in their Workspace org, (including those who bought their own licenses on appsheet.com).

When turned ON for a Workspace organization, these features will be disabled for apps owned by AppSheet Core users. This setting will be defaulted to OFF for organizations with existing active AppSheet apps as of early July 2023.

Organizations with users that have created apps since then may have their apps blocked, as the security setting will be turned ON by default when rolled out for these orgs new to AppSheet since early July.

This rollout will happen gradually. It is deployed to 20% of paid users.

Visual editing tools now available in the app preview

We are excited to roll out our first visual editing features to all AppSheet creators, starting today. This a new way for AppSheet creators to make changes to their apps and navigate the editor. It’s intuitive for anyone to point at what they want to change if they can see it.

Turn on the Edit toggle to use the visual editing tools while previewing the live app.

@Amjad Hello! Could you send me a direct message with your app details and how to reproduce your bug so I can take a look?

@lizlynch

As I posted to the other thread, this feature is technically “Preview release” instead of the proper FEATURE (GA), as it is wrapped and linked to the preview feature.

This is a part of “improved editor” as this is not avaiable the existing app editor layout.

So please correct your words to be precise and not to give us the confusions, thanks.

@lizlynch

If I m permitted to say more, recent days the release (as well as annoucement by Google) about new feature is quite vague, and not clear to all the users.

It is said that the “New preview feature is released for testing”, but such as new feature is presented to user once they access to the editor. Why the preview ones are presented by default?

Futhermore, some preview features (a part of list of preview ones) is not controllable by the toggle option inside UX > Options > General > Preview new features.

With/wihtout turning this option on, some preview features are un-affected, as it is not associated with this options.

Total confusion all the time.
