I have an app with an automation that triggers an Apps Script, and I’ve already enabled the “Run asynchronously” option.
Before (around January or February 2026, I think), the behavior was that AppSheet would fully save and sync everything while the Apps Script continued running in the background.
However, in the last 3 days, I’ve noticed that syncing now seems to wait for the Apps Script to finish before AppSheet completes the sync process.
This isn’t a major issue for users who stay online all the time. However, some of my users only log in at certain times of the day to download and sync data, then go offline and continue working. At the end of the day, they sync again, and this new behavior is significantly increasing their sync wait time.
Has anyone else experienced this recently? Is this a bug, or is this the new behavior for AppSheet moving forward?
