I hate spamming, but i think i will hate myself this time once for doing it: +1 with the open ears on the Gantt chart plan.
Hey folks - Gantt chart is currently in a very limited private preview - I was just chatting with the team about this last week and they are going to start to expand the preview soon ( O(weeks) ). I’ll make sure someone updates here when we’re ready to start recruiting additional participants.
I’ve seen it, it looks great, the setup is fairly complicated due to the relationships between the entities, so we are looking at ways to automate/streamline the initial setup.
As far as localization, I know we’ve been making headway, but I just want to be clear that we are focusing on the creator UI, not adding the ability to have apps in multiple languages. It’s already possible to have strings in other languages for an app, but there are a few edges - dates, the browser language setting, etc and we’re working our way through those as well.
Thank you, will the other charts in preview also be completed for general release, I believe there is alot of feedback over the past few years on limitations on existing charts and where they can be improved as well as the new charts the are in preview for last few years…

And the iframe view…?
Thanks for the update
Thanks for explaining. It is a great help. Now i understand a litle biy better.
Closing the dissapoing year of AppSheet for 2025, no response back from the poster of this thread and no update through the other post. Most of the reported features never being giving to us. The achieved ones were only for the limited enterprise users, but not for the broad members of the AppSheet for their benefit.
It is possible the management of AppSheet who originally posted the update may no longer work for AppSheet nor Google. And any successor (managemnet) will not case for the previous board or management members used to communicate with the usres/community members.
Before closing dissapointing year of 2025 for AppSheet, I really hope the year of 2026 AppSheet is going to be positive and proactivce to us. I sincerly hope the new year is not like 2025.
I’m a student developer who enjoys building practical apps and exploring Google technologies like AppSheet, automation, and AI. I like learning by doing, experimenting with new tools, and creating solutions that solve real-world problems. Always curious, always improving, and excited to grow as a developer.
Huge thank you for this.
I think most of the developers needed this and please don’t hesitate to do it on a regular basis.
That information is gold for us
Hi Koichi,
I’m just back to work today after taking some time off to be with the family over the holiday break. As always, I appreciate your note and your commitment to AppSheet.
I’ll just go through the items in the roadmap post to address your post:
- AI Tasks - launched to GA
- Integration connectors - still in preview, but that’s only due to internal google billing and pricing issues that could not be less interesting.
- Inline testing - GA for AI Tasks
- Governance for non-Google Groups - launched to GA
- Localized AppSheet - still in progress, it’s taking longer than expected, but we are continuing this work
- Gantt chart - this is in a private preview now, and we are working through the mechanics of getting this to GA. Some of the feedback we got in the private preview is that the setup of the views is complicated, dependency management is difficult to understand, a few other points and we’re working through addressing that.
- Template Assistant - GA
- Expression Folding - launched already
- Attachment support for gmail event trigger - This feature has been paused, unfortunately. I’d like it to get picked back up, and potentially we will be able to leverage our connector support in the future to make it happen.
It’s true that many of these features are available only for enterprise users, but the realities of including AppSheet Core with (essentially) all Workspace paid accounts means that we need to monetize the right capabilities. Features like AI tasks come with potentially significant infrastructure costs, while governance capabilities are already an area where we differentiate between core and enterprise. Localization, template editing, expression folding, all are/will be available to all editions.
I understand this isn’t the pace of development that you experienced prior to the acquisition, but aside from the normal “google is a big company” friction, everything that we do and code has to meet certain criteria, while at the same time reworking the core platform to meet Google’s standards for infrastructure. I don’t think the characterization that nothing has shipped is fair, but I appreciate your feedback.
Speaking for myself, I have not been as present recently as I would prefer, but a variety of projects interfered. The team and myself care deeply about AppSheet and beyond that, we care about empowering everyone to build systems to run business processes.
Always appreciate the feedback, and I’ll make sure to try to keep us posted as we move things through the development process. Happy New Year.
- Matt, AppSheet product lead
Who? Why is this posted from @zito?
Good point, and I also noticed.
Can you give us any idea when the Gmail Event Trigger (just the event trigger, nothing to do with attachments) will start to work properly? The support ticket I opened in Mar 02, 2025 is stil unresolved as the trigger still does not work.
@zito Yeah it would be nice if this would work again!
Any News on the New Features? I’m still waiting the Gantt View and many other updates.
