AppSheet iOS Shortcut – Custom Logo Not Applied

1. Environment

  • Using 5 AppSheet apps

  • All apps use custom logos (PNG)

  • iOS home screen shortcut created via AppSheet “Add Shortcut” feature

  • This setup worked correctly around October 2025

2. Issue Description

  • In the AppSheet editor and app UI, the custom logos display correctly

  • However, when using “Add Shortcut” on iOS:

    • The icon preview shows a question mark (:red_question_mark:) instead of the custom logo

    • The logo never loads, even after waiting

  • After adding to the home screen, the icon still does not update

  • In contrast:

    • The default AppSheet logo appears immediately and correctly

3. Logo File Details

  • File type: PNG

  • Dimensions: 195 × 195 pixels

  • File size: under 50 KB

  • Color mode: RGB

  • No issue with the file itself (renders fine in AppSheet editor)

4. Logo Storage Location

  • Stored in Google Drive

  • Located outside the AppSheet app data folders

  • A dedicated top-level “logo” folder is used

  • Logos are stored inside a subfolder within that top-level folder

  • Folder structure was shared with AppSheet Support via screenshots

5. Troubleshooting Already Attempted (All Failed)

  • Reverting to previously working logos

  • Waiting sufficiently before tapping “Add”

  • Testing via iOS Safari

  • Clearing and recreating home screen shortcuts

  • Comparing behavior with default AppSheet logo

  • Updating the logo and retrying multiple times

6. Communication with AppSheet Support

  • Support suggested waiting for the icon to load

  • File type and hosting location were confirmed

  • Clarified that this is not a loading delay issue

  • Issue has been escalated to the AppSheet specialist team

  • Same custom logos worked previously

  • Issue occurs only on iOS and only when creating shortcuts

  • Not related to file size, format, or logo visibility inside AppSheet

  • Default AppSheet logo works consistently

  • Likely related to iOS shortcut icon fetching or caching behavior
    or a recent change/bug in AppSheet’s shortcut handling
