Appsheet in Shared drives

I am getting mixed messages from different dosumentation regarding APpsheet in a shared drive.

We have a business starter workspace account and began using Appsheet in My Drive. I have apps and are working well. I would like to add the apps to Shared drives so I did some research on how to do that. Most searches including previously asked questions on this topic bring me back to this document Work with a Shared Drive so I followed the steps. What I found was that it would create a folder called Team Drive in My Drive rather than keeping it in the Shared Drive.

I tried just moving the folder for the app out of the appsheet folder and dragging it into a shared drive and changing the default path to the suggested /[TeamDrive] path , adding a folder called appsheet/data in the shared drive and dragging the app folder to it leaving the p[ath the same as is, tested an app by putting the data sheet in the shared drive first and creating the app. Still created a folder in My Drive.

I’ve also read that using /[TeamDrive] is only available for Enterprise licenses but that is not stated in most of the documentation. Any help would be appreciated.

I haven’t used shared drive yet, but I’m thinking on it.

I would try a folder in Team Drive, and a shortcut to that folder in your Drive, and a path to your drive folder shortcut.

You don’t need an enterprise plan. You can set the default folder path for your account to a shared drive under the app creator settings section: Login - AppSheet

If the shared drive name is “Apps” and you want your app data stored in the folder “Appsheet/data/”, the default folder path would be: /[SharedDrive]Apps/Appsheet/data

The “/[SharedDrive]” needs to be at the beginning of the default folder path before the shared drive name.

The shortcut would to the Shared drive from My Drive would work but doesn’t solve the problem of the folder itself being inside the shared drive. Ownership would still be mine in My Drive and I want ownership to belong to the company. We are trying to encourage this as an added level of security for company data.

That Worked. I was using [TeamDrive] rather than [Shared Drive] Thanks so much. I notified Appsheet Help that it did not work for me and hopefully their instruction willbe more specific.
