I want to use the USB barcode scanner to scan the barcode but when I open AppSheet on the desktop the feature scan did not appear. Can we use the USB barcode scanner even without the feature? even now you do email or excel or anything, right when you scan the barcode, the wording would be appearing, so I think the same. Can someone give an answer or opinion regarding this?
The Appsheet scanning option is for using a device’s camera to scan a barcode. The value that comes in is just a text value. Appsheet handles the conversion of code to text.
All of the USB barcode scanners that I’ve had experience with do the conversion themselves, and they spit out text as keyboard input. So you don’t need to use the Appsheet scanning option. You just put the cursor in the field, and pull the trigger on the physical barcode scanner.
