App Name Mismatch loop despite exact match across title, H1, and Open Graph tags

Hi. I’m stuck in the same “app name mismatch” verification loop reported by others on this forum, and I’ve exhausted every content-based fix I can find documented.

The error I’m getting: “The app name shown on your OAuth consent screen does not match the app name on your home page.”

What I’ve verified: the app name “Melody String” is identical, character-for-character, across:

  • The homepage’s tag
  • The visible H1 heading (with an explicit id=“app-name”, per a suggestion I found in another thread here)
  • The “About” section heading
  • og:site_name and og:title Open Graph meta tags

Live homepage: https://melodystring.com

What I’ve tried, over 5 distinct content revisions across several days (each verified live and given real time — hours to overnight — before re-checking, to rule out simple caching lag):

  1. Added a basic About section naming the app
  2. Expanded it with a fuller functionality description
  3. Added a tag
  4. Split the privacy policy onto its own separate URL (/privacy.html), linked from the homepage, per Google’s own homepage-requirements guidance
  5. Added the Open Graph tags and id=“app-name” attribute

One more thing that suggests this may be a stale-data issue rather than a actual content problem: the Verification Center at one point showed a review result dated several days before most of these fixes existed — the app name mismatch was the only issue still listed even after a related “purpose not explained” finding cleared.

I’ve also since resubmitted for further review multiple times and have not received the promised confirmation/status email, despite Google’s own message stating one should arrive within days (I’ve verified my email settings are correct on things like Essential Contacts, etc. etc. and confirmed I have gotten emails but not related to this). I’ve since found several other people in these forums reporting the exact same missing-email experience, so this doesn’t appear to be isolated to my project. I even tried going “back to test,” then published again and re-did the process. Still the same issue. My app cannot be “internal” so I have to follow this process.

Domain ownership is verified via Search Console. Has anyone actually gotten a moderator or Google staff member to manually intervene on either of these two issues — the app name mismatch loop, or the missing verification emails? It seems I am completely stuck at this point w/ no path forward. Any confirmed fix beyond “make sure the name matches” (which is already true here) would be hugely appreciated - pls help!

stuck with same issue

Closure on this - I submitted emails/messages out to every known email address/feedback link I could find, additionally calling out that I hadn’t gotten any emails yet for my ask for further review in the verification process (and maybe I needed to update something I wasn’t aware of?). In the end, the actual verification process seemed to take - possibly w/ my nudging/maybe there was something “stuck” - either way, I now have a path forward via an email sent to me from the Trust/Safety team (again, as per the “” option in the verification process). Appreciate the info they’ve provided and the path forward I have now.
