Is it possible to separate external and internal traffic within a single hybrid gateway deployment (e.g. internal traffic on port 9000 and external on port 9001)?

Yes. As many as you wish. Hybrid uses Istio to control and configure ingress.
You just need to create additional gateways and virtual services.

I am talking about Istio Ingress gateway objects, not about Hybrid gateways.
