Apigee backup in different zone

Yesterday we faced with US-East region issues - it is described at https://status.apigee.com/.

So because of that our services were unavailable. So the question is it possible to have a backup installation in a different zone and route request to it in case of issues in US-East region?

Yes, it is possible. Apigee calls this the “Distributed Network” option. You should speak to your sales contact to discuss this configuration change.
