Actions Section Missing in Table View Display Configuration (Google Sheets Source)

Hi AppSheet Community,

I’m encountering a strange issue where the “Actions” configuration section is completely missing from the “Display” settings panel for my Table views.

Details:

  • Data Source: Google Sheets
  • Table Name: KTHT
  • View Type: Table
  • Problem: In the UX → Views → [My Table View] configuration panel, under the “Display” section, the subsection where you normally add Inline, Prominent, Overlay actions (labeled “Actions”) is not visible at all.

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

  1. Confirmed the View Type is definitely set to “Table”.
  2. Checked the table permissions for “KTHT” in Data → Tables. Confirmed that “Are updates allowed?” is NOT set to “Read-Only”. Updates, Adds, and Deletes are all enabled.

  1. Checked the table schema in Data → Columns for “KTHT”. Confirmed a Key column (“Mã NV”) is defined. There are some warnings about data validation and a formula in the ‘Email’ column marking it read-only, but a Key exists.

  1. Tried regenerating the table structure using the “Regenerate Structure” button.
  2. Created a completely NEW Table view connected to the SAME “KTHT” table data source. The “Actions” configuration section is ALSO MISSING in this new view’s “Display” settings.

Since the Actions configuration is missing even on a new view for a table that allows updates and has a key defined, I’m unsure what else to check. Could this be a bug or related to the warnings shown in the column structure?

Any help or insights would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

Your app has been set to use the Legacy Desktop Editor. In that version of the Editor the actions were listed under the “Behavior” tab. I don’t know if this was intended and if it was I strongly encourage you to switch to the newer Editor and begin getting familiar with it. At some point in the near future, AppSheet will remove the legacy Editor.

To switch to the newer version of the Editor, tap the “eye” button shown in the image below

I think there is some confusion here. The options you list are visibility options for actions and would have never been shown in a Table View.

I hope this helps!!
