In Google Drive for Desktop, it is currently not possible to exclude recurring subfolders from syncing.
Our team uses Google Workspace with hundreds of client folders, and each one contains a subfolder called “Source Files.” These subfolders are very large and we do not want them to sync to Drive, but we still need the rest of the folder structure in Drive for collaboration.
It would be extremely valuable to have an option to define folder names (e.g., “Source Files”) that should always be excluded from sync across all directories. This would save significant cloud storage space and make Drive much more efficient for teams with large amounts of data.
