$300 Free Trial is useless without GPU Quota. My trial period is wasting away

Hi Google Cloud Community,

I recently signed up for Google Cloud and activated the $300 Free Trial to evaluate Cloud Run for our AI workload. My goal is simple: test a single LLM instance using the NVIDIA L4 GPU.

The Logic Trap (Chicken and Egg):
Google gave me credits to “try out” the platform. However, the quota for Cloud Run services NVIDIA L4 GPUs per region is locked at 0.

  • I have the credits.

  • I verified my billing account.

  • But I cannot deploy anything because the quota is 0.

The Issue:
I requested a quota increase (0 → 1) in us-central1, but it’s stuck in “Pending” status because it’s the weekend.[2][3] Meanwhile, my 90-day trial period is ticking away without me being able to test a single line of code.

My Question:
What is the purpose of the Free Trial credits if I’m blocked from using the very resources (GPUs) I need to evaluate? I want to verify the performance before becoming a paid customer, but I’m stuck at the door.

Request:
Could a Community Manager or Googler please review my quota request? I just need 1 L4 GPU to prove that this platform works for me.

  • Project ID: (PII Removed by Staff)

  • Region: us-central1 (or any available region)

  • Target: Cloud Run services NVIDIA L4 GPUs per region (0 → 1)

Please help a potential customer evaluate the service properly. Thank you.
